HANDLING LINGERING CHALLENGES. (1)
“Then Moses said to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”” Exodus 4:10 NASB1995
GOOD DAY TO YOU: Nobody wants it but some challenges are lingering and they are frustrating and could cast some doubt on the existence of God and what His ability is. Moses is a man with such. He had a speech impediment. Apostle Paul was another example of a lingering challenge through whom we can learn a lot of lessons. Although lingering, it does not make the challenge any easier or loveable. Even Abraham the father of faith did not like barrenness. He expressed his displeasure to God even when he was already old. I chose Moses today as he clearly explains typical human situations. Hear him in the presence of God: Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.
We are not told if and how many times Moses took this challenge to God but we know from God’s reply to Him that God is sovereign and He knew about his challenge. “The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say.”” Exodus 4:11-12 NASB1995
The challenge did not stop Moses from having a zeal for God (which brought him into exile) nor did it stop God from using him for a job that required a person with perfect speech. This is to encourage and comfort those with lingering challenges that God sees you, knows about your challenges, can remove the challenge yet decides to leave it and HE LOVES YOU AND WILLING TO CALL YOU HIS OWN. If you will allow Him, He wants to reveal Himself through you, He wants to give you glory as you yield your life to Him. Whatever you can do to establish His kingdom around you, keep doing it.
Today’s Exercise: No matter your challenge, God is aware and He grants you the grace to function if you are willing. Say to yourself ten times: “My challenge is an occasion for me to showcase God’s grace as I fulfil my destiny.”

I commend you for the new format. It’s simple & easy to read with less fancy embellishments.
We tend to want to hide some lingering chllenges and by so doing, limit our freedom of expression. Moses knew that he had his challenge, yet he kept quiet until God sent him on an errand. As children of God, we should seek His help to overcome our lingering chllenges, no matter how small.
Thanks a lot my sister.lingering challenges usually breed shame or lower our self esteem. Thank God for Jesus in whom we are made complete.
Be still and know that I am your Lord……Amen.
It is well IJN.
Amen
At times, God leaves our challenges to help us be in touch with our humanness and help us to thereby rely on Him for deliverance. May we understand this and cooperate with the Holy Spirit of God to help navigate our lives appropriately in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen!!!
This is true may the Holy Spirit help our infirmities.
This is highly inspiring. Knowing that our limitations does not really hinder us from fulfilling God’s purposes on our lives is a great blessing.
amen
