DIGESTING SOUL FOOD FOR GROWTH (Meditation)
📖
“This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite (meditate therein) it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.” Joshua 1:8 HCSB
📖
““This command that I give you today is certainly not too difficult or beyond your reach. It is not in heaven so that you have to ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven, get it for us, and proclaim it to us so that we may follow it? ’ And it is not across the sea so that you have to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea, get it for us, and proclaim it to us so that we may follow it? ’ But the message is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may follow it. See, today I have set before you life and prosperity, death and adversity. Deuteronomy 30:11-15 HCSB

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Have you heard the word meditation before? I have heard so many versions of it in a way that I find difficult to practice and it puts me off. The talk about meditation eventually fizzled out of church teaching and some even label it demonic because of eastern meditation procedures. However, meditation in the Christian way is very simple and quite enjoyable. It is the way the soul digests the word to become flesh. The interesting thing is that we all meditate daily without knowing it and you will see it from the two scriptures we are considering today.
WHAT IS CHRISTIAN MEDITATION? Christian Meditation is simply reciting scriptures as often as possible until it enters your heart where it becomes your flesh. I will give you an example: I had arthritis that was so painful and made walking very difficult yet I had to do school runs. I took the scripture “for in him we live, and move, and have our being; ….” Acts 17:28 KJV
and kept saying it to myself. When I got up to move, the first ten steps were quite painful then the pain reduced until I felt it no more. Whenever I am not having anything important to think about, I have a collection of Scriptures that I take from and keep reciting to myself. I eventually become the scriptures. That is how I overcame anger and other habits I needed to shelve.
You see how I say we all meditate but mostly in the negative way. You recite your challenges or anyone who offends you with the punishment you will dole on him to yourself several times.
Do you need a special place or position to meditate? No not really except you want to seclude yourself. But seclusion with a mind roaming around and worrying is not useful. As long as you can keep reciting the word of God to yourself till it becomes your nature, it is good. I used meditation to deal with unforgiving nature. I kept reciting to myself for a longtime that I am a forgiving person. I forgive whoever offends me because he does not know what he is doing. Using scriptures like this has made me a better person without effort.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You my Father that You make living in You easy. Help me to keep your word in my mouth so that it may enter my heart. Say to yourself ten times and as often as you can today (I keep God’s word in my mouth that it may enter my heart so I can do it.)
