October 27.          Mark ch 11-13

CAN YOU SEE GOD? 

“For the Lord God is one, and so are we, for we share in one faith, one baptism, and one Father. And he is the perfect Father who leads us all, works through us all, and lives in us all!” Ephesians 4:5-6 TPT

GOOD DAY: God did not take His breath from man when Adam fell in the garden of Eden. This means that the breath or Spirit of God is in every living human being no matter his state. This implies that there is the spark of goodness in every human being no matter how we classify him. It reminds me of the judgment of Jesus in Matthew 25:41-45 where He identifies with prisoners and other outcasts of the society. Since God is Love, it also means that there is a spark of Love in every human being. How do you think the world will be if each person can see and relate with the Love in his neighbour? How do I see God in my neighbours, particularly the ones that don’t fall within my definition of God? God deliberately places some unpleasant people or situations in our path to teach us Love. Loving (not lust) is very tough when we are offended. You may cry and just wish sulphur and brimstone would rain on such person like Sodom and Gomorrah. I will tell you how I worked my way to loving unlovable people and situations in my life. 

It starts with my acceptance that God is in the person or at the centre of the situation. Then, I choose to love God in the person or situation. It is difficult at first because I cannot see anything good or godlike  in the person or the circumstance. Then I say to myself “I love so and so he or the circumstance; it is God’s best choice or position for me right now.” These words have weight in my mouth and heart at first but eventually, it becomes easier and the stone of negative emotions melt from my heart and I feel joy when I remember or talk about the person or matter and more and more, I see the good in the whole situation. Do it, it works to melt all hatred from your heart. 

PRAY: Dear Lord, I choose love over hatred and war from today. Help me to do and keep doing love for my good and the good of the world in Jesus name.
