EFFECT OF PRAYER

“Do not be anxious about anything; but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God in everything; And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6–7 AFV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Anyone who prays wants to know if God has heard him or not. It’s like a child demanding something from the father and he receives a straight face from him without any sign that he was with the child in the discussion. The child is worried and keeps asking over and over again. So what is the indicator that God has heard your prayer? 💭
In most cases, prayer is triggered by a disturbing situation. For many people, it is the last option after we have tried our best and nothing works. However, it is the first option of a few. To those ones, God is their first responder in any crisis and they pray immediately. What God responds with at first is His Peace. The peace of God will keep your heart and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Mark you that this response from God is for those who are in Christ Jesus. Those who pray through other means will have to know the way God tells them that He has heard their prayers. “I will hear what God the Lord will speak; for He will speak peace to His people, and to His saints, but let them not turn again to folly.” Psalms 85:8 AFV The Psalmist put it plainly that God speaks peace to His people, but they should not turn again to folly. If you do not know the peace of God, you should pray to know it. It is so important that God says we should pursue peace and seek it. Peace is like the ant’s feeler. Once the feeler senses danger, the ant changes direction. Once you have God’s peace, any thought that shakes it should be avoided. As long as you have peace, you have the guarantee that God has heard you.
Today, I leave you with the exercise to pray over your situation until you have peace instead of worrying.

TODAY’S EXERCISE: Thank You Jesus because You have shown me the indicator that tells me You are with me. Help me to wait for your Peace to guide me before doing anything. Say to yourself as often as possible (I allow the peace of God to guide me at all times and in all things.)

Thankfully, I now pray as if it’s mandatory, and very often I find myself conversing with God!
