June 7. Psalms ch 76-78
EMBRACE AND THRIVE IN YOUR NOW TO LIVE TOMORROW
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, ‘Build houses and live in them; and plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and become the fathers of sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there and do not decrease. Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.’ For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Do not let your prophets who are in your midst and your diviners deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams which they dream.

GOOD DAY: The Israelites had to be in exile in Babylon for their disobedience to God. They had all the promises of God to Abraham and exile or slavery was not part of it after they left Egypt. There were Prophets among them who would charge them to think that God had no plans of exile for them and they would keep complaining and rebelling against God and the king of Babylon. However, God spoke through prophet Jeremiah that the exile was His plan for Israel at that time; and while in exile, they should
1 ‘Build houses and live in them;
2 and plant gardens and eat their produce.
3 Take wives and become the fathers of sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters;
4 and multiply there and do not decrease.
5 Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile,
6 and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.’
Wherever you are exiled now in life, embrace it, live progressively there, pray for the welfare of other inmates and those in charge of you and patiently wait for when God will bring you out or set you free.
Your freedom should be a hope that you keep alive until God’s appointed time of freedom comes but you must live your life to the fullest as your situation permits NOW. Many people have stopped living NOW and waiting until their HOPE materializes thus failing to learn the lesson of the NOW in their exile. The rule is FEEL AND EXPECT YOUR HOPE BUT LIVE FULLY NOW.
