November 25. Act ch 20-21
“Come to me all of you who are tired. You are like people who have worked for a long time. You are like people who have carried heavy things. Come to me. If you do that, you will find a place to rest. Do what I teach you to do. Listen to my message and learn from me what is true. I am very kind and I do not make myself important. I will help you. Then you will have peace in your mind. I will not tell you to do things that are too difficult. I will not tell you to carry anything that is too heavy for you.’” Matthew 11:28-30 EASY
HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I chose this version of the popular verse Matthew 11:28 because it is rendered in simple and familiar terms. Have you noticed that words, thoughts, people and places trigger a feeling in you? Some people will say the energy of a place or person is good or bad. It took me a long time before I became aware of the feelings different things trigger in me. Try to notice the feelings a thought, person or place triggers in you then you will appreciate it when you enter the secret place of the Lord. The Lord triggers peace, love, joy and other positive feelings.
Jesus asks that troubled people should come to Him and they shall find rest for their souls. When you get to Jesus, you find rest for your soul.
This is how you go to Jesus. His name is the embodiment of God. You keep saying the name of Jesus to yourself instead of your fears and worries until that name calms all other feelings and you have peace in your soul no matter your outward circumstances. You can also keep saying ‘Jesus, save me or Jesus I love you’. Every scripture that you can quote is in that name Jesus. Jesus is the Word that was with God in the beginning and through whom all things were made. If you need anything else, He will impress it in your mind. Try it today and see how calming the name of Jesus is.
Today’s Exercise: Dear Father, thank You for giving us Jesus who is the totality of Your name. Open my mind to know the meaning and power of Jesus. I keep the name of Jesus on my lips and my mind always.
