THE JOURNEY OF FAITH. THE SHIELD
“in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

GOOD DAY: You must have realized now that your struggle is not with flesh and blood but against spiritual entities. That business that is always failing after you have put in your best is not a battle with any seen forces. That child whom you have taken all efforts to raise in a godly way that is still misbehaving is not a matter of a physical battle. The man who lies, cheats and is lazy is not that man but a spirit in him that pushes him in the wrong direction.
Let us look at a story to see what happens in the heavenly realm.
Micaiah said, “Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right and on His left. The Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab to go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?’ And one said this while another said that. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’ The Lord said to him, ‘How?’ And he said, ‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ Then He said, ‘You are to entice him and also prevail. Go and do so.’ Now therefore, behold, the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and the Lord has proclaimed disaster against you.” 1 Kings 22:19-23 NASB1995
The spirit that enters a person speaks and acts through him.
What you use as a shield against the arrows of the wicked spirits is your faith. Faith comes when a belief is heard long enough to enter deep into the spirit of man in a way that it resists another idea or fact from settling in one’s spirit. Even when what is contrary to one’s belief is real in nature, a person of faith holds on to his belief until his faith becomes the reality. We may not have faith enough to raise the dead but Elijah, Jesus, Peter and Paul did. The enemy made death a reality but these men by their faith brought the dead back to life.
PRAY: Dear Lord, help my unbelief and increase my faith.
