THE FRUIT OF SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

“But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.” Galatians 5:22-23 TPT

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: When we talk of benefits, what comes to mind are tangible or quantifiable benefits, however, the intangible benefits are more important than the tangible ones because with the intangible benefits also come the tangible ones. Let’s look at the summary of Solomon’s request after he had offered a thousand burnt offerings to the Lord. When God asked him to ask for whatever he wanted, he asked for wisdom. Hear what God said; “Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.” I Kings 3:11-13 NKJV  As you keep your focus and your mouth on the word of God until it roots out all the worldliness and sins that weigh you down in your heart, then you have peace. This peace of God passes all understanding and it is not outside dependent. This peace subdues all ungodliness and with it comes all varied expressions as you read in our lead scriptures today. This place of divine love of God is the safest place to be in a broken and unsafe world. Every other thing that you need is added to you. Just like no one knows how a seed grows in the soil, no one knows how the word of God roots out every contrary manifestation to it and the kingdom of God is established in you.

Today’s Exercise: Dear Lord, I tried yesterday to keep speaking what your word says to my situation but it was tough. The manifestation of the flesh shouted louder and I unknowingly gave up speaking the word. Help me Lord to hold on today and everyday. Say to yourself ten times and as often as you can (I am greatly helped daily with confessing God’s word till the word prevails).
