GOD EVERYWHERE
November 6. John ch 21- Acts ch 2
GOD UP, DOWN, WITHIN AND BELOW EVERYWHERE.
“You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me! Where could I go from your Spirit? Where could I run and hide from your face? If I go up to heaven, you’re there! If I go down to the realm of the dead, you’re there too! If I fly with wings into the shining dawn, you’re there! If I fly into the radiant sunset, you’re there waiting! Wherever I go, your hand will guide me; your strength will empower me. It’s impossible to disappear from you or to ask the darkness to hide me, for your presence is everywhere, bringing light into my night. There is no such thing as darkness with you. The night, to you, is as bright as the day; there’s no difference between the two.” Psalms 139:5, 7-12 TPT
GOOD DAY. The nature and person of God is beyond human understanding and so everyone perceives Him with their limited understanding and if they are smart enough, they build a theology around their understanding.
God is everywhere. Human five senses and intelligence cannot take this in. One author and preacher that I respect so much does not recognise God that is out in heaven he believes that He is only in the individual person. The mystery is too difficult for him to understand. The psalmist contemplated God and he came to the conclusion that knowledge was too much for him. This he expressed in verse 6.
The Spirit of God is everywhere. So His Spirit in me can be everywhere. Remember Elisha telling Gehazi that his spirit was with Gehazi when he went to take a gift from Naaman. 2 Kings 5:26. It is the gift of God however to make one understand what is happening where your spirit is.
In heaven, God is there; in the realm of the dead, God is there as well. When your spirit is with the dead, you are there with them because of God in you; if you go to the shining sun, God is there with you. Even the thick darkness that blinds human sight is light to God. Contemplate this Psalm and you will be so amazed and your interpersonal relationship will improve. You will treat others knowing they are God’s and God is with them. Also, you will fear nothing because His hand is always with you to guard you. In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus identified with all sorts of people and concluded that whatever you do to them, you have done to Him.
He even sees your thoughts from afar before you think them. You will wonder then why he does not stop the wicked thoughts. It is because He made man in His image and breathed His breath into Him giving Him free will. God will not force man to love and obey Him. Anybody who forces others to love and obey is not conscious of God with him. God is with you and in you wherever you go or wherever your thoughts take you yet He is seated in heaven.
PRAY: Dear Lord, please give me an awareness of You that I may not sin against You.
