HANDLING DELAY TO ANSWERED PRAYERS
October 11 Zechariah ch 7- 9
WHEN ANSWER TO PRAYER IS DELAYED
“Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said, “The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.” Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt.”

GOOD DAY: We all have experienced prolonged challenges that God seems not to see at all or mindful of in spite of our prayers and fasting with other spiritual activities to get God’s attention. You feel frustrated, afraid of the worst that could happen in case your prayer is not answered, inadequate, helpless, ashamed etc. It is like you are pinned to a corner. I have by my experience and experiences of others that they shared with me learnt how to navigate such bends.
1. The first thing is to believe that all things will work together for your good because you love God and have no other help. This you do by deliberately talking this to yourself until it settles in your spirit man and that becomes the eye with which you see all events.
2. Realize that the challenge is not the problem per se but your peace of mind that it disturbs is the real issue. I have come to know that PEACE OF MIND is what we all want and not necessarily any material thing. As long as my inward peace is not disturbed, nothing actually matters.
3. My peace disappears when my thoughts and desires are at variance with God’s on any issue. The moment my thoughts and desires align with God’s I have peace.
4. I surrender my will and desire to that of God. My prayer becomes ‘Your will not my will be done Lord.’ I say that to myself both inwardly and audibly till I have peace. Anytime I see or remember the challenge and it wants to disturb my peace, I go through all these processes again. It has never failed anyone who will stay with it till their prayers get answered.
This is how God teaches us to live and know how to overcome obstacles on our way up and not run back to our comfort zone.
PRAY: Dear Lord, please teach me how to hold your hand as you lead me to your purpose.
