HANDLING DISCOURAGEMENT AND DISAPPOINTMENTS

“We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Have you been or are you frustrated and felt disappointed and weary because your efforts seem not to be yielding any result? You feel like giving up. It is not you alone. I have been there several times and the same principle has picked me up and kept me going till I succeeded. When I was single handedly raising my children, I was at that point several times. There would be no money for us to feed, not to talk of paying fees. I would be frustrated when no one ordered books or asked for my engineering services. Then Hebrews 12:2 came alive to me the day I decided that I would withdraw them from private to the public school. I heard the instruction vividly in my spirit. “Write out the vision you have of your children that made you choose the schools they are attending.” I wrote out my vision and read it over and over then new energy welled up in me and I was happy. Because of what I saw them becoming, I ignored the pain and got going again. Glory to God, they turned out better than I expected.

Are you at that point now? You are discouraged and don’t know the way forward? You are feeling like a failure and afraid with low self esteem? It is not you alone. It happens to everyone with a worthwhile purpose. The following steps will work to energise you and keep you going.

đź’

First is to trust God to take you to your destination. 2. Write your destination or objective down clearly. Habakkuk 2:2. It is like knowing where you are headed for and no obstacle can stop you. 3. Keep the written destination before your face always. Look at it prayerfully while you are down until it revives you again. Every purpose or objective has auto fulfilment energy in it when planted in a good heart. Salvation of the world was planted in Jesus and the road involved death on the cross in obedience to God and the goal. He was weary, tired and even disappointed when God looked away from Him. Jesus however kept His purpose before Him and He rose up to move towards the cross. The joy of achieving the goal was the reviving energy in Him.

The problem with most people is they either have no clear cut purpose or no purpose at all. A purposeless person is a person without a focus. He is like a homeless person who settles for different places as home. I leave you with this thought today to check your purpose for anything you are pursuing and keep that in your focus.

Today’s Exercise: Dear Lord, thank you for showing me how to kindle fresh energy in me. Help me to keep my focus on You. Say to yourself as often as possible (I am clear about my purpose and the joy of reaching it revives me always.)

  1. Every purpose or objective has auto fulfilment energy in it. Aunty Bose, this is WAWU!! Auto fulfilment. Thank you.

  2. Thank you, Ma’am. l am blessed by the insights that your explanations give..it is indeed a blessing. To God be all the glory. Hallelujah.

The practicality of Habakukk 2:2 is priceless in applying to every second of one s life. Glory Hallelujah. May we number our days and apply our hearts to wisdom in Jesus Mighty Mighty Name. Amen.

Then there’s is more as reading today’s sharing together with some other devotionals shared that l read today on the topic of faith. lt just occurred to me that l tend to see our Lord as God alone and tend to forget He was man on earth who had to face death as a man and He conquered death with His exemplary faith in God and our Father…so we have the great privilege to apply the same faith on all forms of death..spiritual, physical, financial, relationship…to name a few that He exhibited because of His victory on the cross. Hmmm hmmmm. What a God what Father !!! Glory Hallelujah.

To that we really must have faith in God and knows with no doubt that He has the wherewithal to hearken to our prayers; we must also have faith in His Word and the finality of His Word for those who believe in and all circumstances of life for He loves like no other

Our God is awesome and truly beyond words. Hallelujah!!! Ogo fun Oluwa.
