HANNAH, THE WOMAN WITH PASSION NOT NOISE

đź“–

“And he (Elkanah) had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth. Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”” I Samuel 1:2, 10-13, 20 NKJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Many people connect with the story of Hannah. They prayed for so long and so much yet still humiliated without God bringing any relief. She did not stop praying and expressing her pains and emotions to God. This teaches that one should stay connected to God while there is delay in the manifestation of answer to prayers.

We are not told what she said in prayer this time around but I imagine she repeated her anguish as in the past but she listened to what God had to say to her situation. She could have heard God say something like “I have given you a child but you must surrender him to serve me from his youth.” There was a dialogue in the heart of Hannah between God and Hannah to which she replied that she agreed. She made a vow to God that if He gave her a son, she would be ready to release him for His use. “Just remove the reproach Lord” she would have said.  â€śAnd though the Lord gives you The bread of adversity and the water of affliction, Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, But your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:2021 NKJVThe word of God implanted in your heart will instruct you in the way of God. You have to listen and do what He says. This is the meaning of whatever you store in your heart speaks to you.

Today, as you speak to yourself, listen to what your heart is also saying to you.
