HOW TO EAT THE WORD OF GOD

“But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may do it.” Deuteronomy 30:14 AFV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Yesterday, I did say we shall look at how to eat the word. It is not just the word of God, the process is true of any word that you choose to eat however, I am going to limit myself to the word of God.
The process is the same as with natural food. You will identify and how people eat the word without knowing it and they become empowered or limited by the word that they eat then they ask why their life is as it turns out. Someone releases a song and it goes viral such that it is in the mouth of everybody who likes it almost every time their mouths are free. The lyrics of the song thus go to your heart and are stored there. It makes the instruction it carries your instructor whenever it perceives any situation similar to what it describes.

Now to eat the word of God, you take the word of God of your choice that is relevant to your situation, then keep saying it to yourself until it enters your heart and it is stored there. For example, I have repeated ‘In Him I live and move and have my being’ Acts 17:28 to myself for so long that anytime I sense any issues I don’t like with my being, my inward and outward response is Acts 17:28. When arthritis could have grounded me, my mind would go to my mantra of Acts 17:28 and I would get up and walk. It would be painful for some steps then I would be fine.

Whatever is stored in your heart dictates what you can do and be. We shall discuss how the word in your heart limits your faith but for today, let your exercise be identifying your response to matters arising in your life and observe what limits or fuels your response

Today’s Exercise: Thank You God for giving me an understanding of my mind and how it works. Help me to put what I learn to practice. Say to yourself several times (I watch whatever I repeat to myself. I will not repeat words that limit my actions.)
