HOW TO FREE YOURSELF FROM DEBT
”The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave.“
Proverbs 22:7 NASB1995
GOOD MORNING: The way things are with the world economy, it is difficult for many if not most people not to borrow and be in debt continually even to eat. Debt puts the borrower under perpetual fear of the lender or lenders and diminishes the borrower’s self-worth. I pray for all those who are in debt without knowing the way out that God will open your eyes to see His point of provision for you.
The first step is to determine that come what may, you are not going to borrow again. This can be challenging especially when you have dependents to cater for. I have been there before so I know how it feels. You will then decide to live according to your means. This is tough especially when you have to downsize.
Look for money-making capabilities within you which may be outside your normal job. I organized after-school lessons for children, I sold beef to caterers, I packaged raw food stuff for women too busy to go to the market, whatever my hand found to do, I chose to do it and do it with dignity.
I also found that each time all doors seemed to close and borrowing was the only option, God opened another door of service.
Soon, I had enough to meet my essential needs and something left to be servicing my loans. ALSO, BE ASSURED THAT WHEN YOU GET TO THE END OF YOUR ABILITY, GOD TAKES OVER AND OPENS ANOTHER DOOR. Once a person is ready for a change of lifestyle for the better, God is ready to help. This is where your faith that God exists matters and a relationship with Him prepares you for any turn of events. God’s will is expressed in this scripture: ”Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law.“ Romans 13:8NASB1995
The only debt we are permitted to owe is to LOVE our neighbour.
