HOW TO GROW IN SPIRITUAL VIRTUES

“In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word. For this “milk” will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life —” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The way to have more tangible stock to take and give thanks to God for is by increasing in spiritual virtues. Jesus said to enter the kingdom of God, we must be like little children. Babies and little children crave food for them to grow. We are to copy them by  sincerely craving the pure milk of the word of God. Whoever wishes to grow in spiritual virtues must love the word of God. The same word of God is first the pure milk then it becomes the meat and strong bone for the mature soul. Hebrews 5:14

How do you use the word of God as milk? It is by reading it. You read through the bible either once a year or six months. It actually depends on how thirsty you are. When I started, I was reading through the bible monthly using the NIV translation for seven months. By the end of three months, I started becoming conscious of my inner world. My outlook on life started changing. That is how you drink the milk of the word of God. Reading it.

The word becomes strong meat when you have read, studied it so that it transforms your mind and you can discern what is acceptable to God.  “Also, do not continue to conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you test and approve what is the will of God—what is good, pleasing, and perfect.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭EHV‬‬. Once your mind is transformed to the mind of God by His word that you have kept in your mouth always, then the word in you instructs you what to do in any situation. The result of this is that you abound in the fruit of the spirit and in material or physical things that you can count and give thanks. I pray that the word of God will be sweet in your mouth and ears and that you will love hearing and speaking it until it becomes your flesh.
