HOW TO REST YOUR SOUL IN JESUS CHRIST

““You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].” Isaiah 26:3 AMP

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: There are so many spiritual instructions that we do not know how to practice and so they are reduced to just clichés. How do I rest my soul in Jesus Christ? Let us look at resting the body so we will understand how to rest the soul. When you lie down to rest the body, it ceases to move around. Even if you don’t lie down, you can still rest your body while seated on a chair. 

The “BODY” so to say of your soul is your THOUGHT. It is the thought that roams around worrying, doubting, fearful and hardly settles. While the body rests, the thought might still be working. So it takes a conscious effort to constantly rest the thought while your body is still awake. 

To rest your soul in Jesus Christ, you either keep your thoughts in thanking God when you are not actively doing anything by saying in your mind “thank You Jesus” or saying in your mind “God loves me”. I rest my thoughts on “In God I live, and move and have my being”. I discover that whatever happens, my thought first responds in shock or fear or anger but that is short lived. It goes back to its resting place of either “thank You Jesus or God loves me or in Him I live and move and have my being”. As I rest my soul in these scriptures, a solution comes to my mind which I do and things get right.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord that I can rest my soul in You. Help me to stay my thought in you trusting You to lead me right. 

Say to yourself ten times and anytime your mind is idle “I know that Jesus loves me”.
