HOW TO THINK.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
GOOD DAY TO YOU: The best way to know how and what to think is to learn from God Himself. He gave us an insight into the thoughts He thinks toward us in Jeremiah 29:11. He thinks of peace and not of evil to give us our expected end. If you read the story leading to this statement by God, it was while Israel was held captive in Babylon. This implies that no matter what life does to me for any reason, God says I should rejoice in the hope I have. I am to think in the hope and not in the situation that I am passing through. “Be happy in your hope, stand your ground when you’re in trouble, and devote yourselves to prayer.”Romans 12:12 CEB It is your thought that God works in and on not your situation. Whatever thought you present to the power that works in you is the data the power will work with.
Example that I have worked with is: “For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.” Acts 17:28 AMPC My hope is that age or disease will not stop me from moving. I had pain in my legs and I had to do a school run for my grands with bus and trekking daily. I kept repeating Acts 17:28 and the leg would pain me at the beginning of the trip but after about 100 steps, it would stop till the pain finally disappeared. My thought was centered on God in whom I move. If you understand this, you will eventually get your hope because God thinks good thoughts towards you to give you that hope. Think about this and sort out your hope clearly then tomorrow by God’s grace, we learn how to speak and rejoice in our hope.
Today’s exercise: say to yourself at least ten times ten times; “I think good thoughts toward myself no matter what I am going through.”
