“Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3 NLT

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I remember when I first encountered the hybrid car in the UK with my daughter, I wondered how it would operate. The car runs on petrol and electricity. A full tank of petrol would take one month to finish but she charged the battery every day renewing its power. The car ran mainly on battery and little fuel.

Though not exactly the same, I see a picture of life in the process. We are a hybrid of food (bread) and word of God (spirit). We cannot live on bread alone but on every word from the mouth of God. The Word of God needs the body to function and the body needs the spirit to live. Without the spirit, the body is lifeless and decays and without a body, the spirit can’t express himself. Jesus puts it this way “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 KJV. What is the spirit? Again, Jesus says “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63 KJV. Words are spirits. It is the word within that power and guides the body to move in its direction. This is the reason why you should be careful of the words you hear and how you hear and recharge your spirit by repeating the word of God and not the word of (physical) reality. The words you hear with attention dwell in you and guide your body. Pay attention to the words you hear and hold in you no matter who speaks them. Think on the scripture for meditation today for deep understanding and your personal guidance.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for I now know that Word is Life. Thank You for freely giving me Your word to live by. Help me to treasure Your word in me. Say to yourself always (The word of God in me powers my life and body to goodness and mercy.)
