IN HEAVEN, WITH ME AND IN ME

3 “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: When we were young, we were made to memorize and recite Our Lord’s Prayer every morning and evening. All of us including our parents and teachers knew God who is far up in heaven. We thought heaven was the sky. God was like inaccessible and hard to please as we were taught mostly about sin and punishment. This outlook gave us morbid fear and we dreaded God. This isn’t a good or healthy perspective at all. This is God as we saw Him in Matthew 6:9
Then came the dispensation of Matthew 28:20. There was an awakening that God is with us. We became familiar with God. People called His name while telling lies and deceiving others and nothing happened. That was the beginning of people losing respect for the name of God, violating His laws and going free. The morbid fear disappeared bit by bit. When wickedness goes unpunished, more people become wicked. The implication of this phase was that people started thinking that either God does not exist or He is weak.
Then came the dispensation of 1 Corinthians 6:19 when we realized that God dwells in us. Our bodies are His temple. Man soon realized that God was even present while he was devising evil in His heart and did not do anything to stop him. This is the peak of the thought that there is no God. For people to believe that God exists, He has to show His power in mighty things like He did in the time of Pharaoh. Mankind prefers judgment to love. Even in interpersonal relationships, people fall in line more for fear of punishment than for love. Think on this today and tomorrow, we shall look at how to feel and fear God in this dispensation.
PRAY: Dear Lord God, help the world and myself first to know the power of your love and the self destructive nature of evil in Jesus name.
