June 1. Nehemiah ch 4-6
IN PURSUIT OF EVERLASTING VALUE
“For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.” 1 Timothy ch 4-8 AMP
GOOD DAY: Congratulations for being in this present life on this first day of June. No matter your situation, you have hope, rejoice in that hope that tomorrow will be better. To those who have chosen to be part of the marathon race through the Bible in 120 days, I congratulate you again. Like physical training, you will experience initial pains and discouragements. At such times, give a shout to the Holy Spirit to pick you up and help you on. You can contact me too and we’ll call for help together. You may find creating time to read the day’s portion will mean dropping some activities that you are used to. Again ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to rearrange your time. I hope you have your bible version that you enjoy and your pen and paper for taking notes. If you are using your phone, then make sure you back your notes up so you can go back to it at any time.
There are many benefits to reading the bible in a marathon way. The one that catches my attention most is that it is water that cleanses you.
“to make us holy and pure, cleansing us through the showering of the pure water of the Word of God.” Ephesians 5:26 TPT.
I love the language ‘showering’. When you run a marathon in the word, it’s like taking a shower in the natural. It refreshes you and gives the benefits of natural showering plus much more. It heals you even without knowing it, it protects you, it lights your path and rejuvenates your body and spirit.
I will bring out the day’s passage to read as some people have said the prints of the table are too small.
Have a jolly marathon as we start with prayer
PRAY: Dear Holy Spirit, I ask that You make me conscious of Your presence with me and open my eyes to behold wondrous things from Your word. Guide me in everything I will be doing this month and onwards in Jesus name.
