But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away. I Corinthians 7:29-31 NKJV
GOOD DAY: Strange things are happening all over the world and many are so confused as to what manner of life people should live. With each prayer request or complaint I receive, I ask the Lord which way? He gave me an answer today that the bottom line is each person should live detached from earthly things. The more attached you are to anything or any circumstance, the more you lose your peace and the more disappointment and frustration you get. I discovered that nothing in itself has value until you put value and worth on it. When I decided to start practicing detachment, I prayed fervently to God to make me see everything for what they are and take attachment to them from my heart. It took time but I became detached from most things especially when I realized that life is like a river and the water flows away. Everything is passing away. It is all vanity. Are you weeping today? It will pass. Are you happy today? It will pass. What made you happy yesterday may become the source of weeping today because the happiness was passing as well as the thung.
For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
I Corinthians 4:7 NKJV
There is nothing we have that we did not receive from God. So ask for the grace to be detached from earthly things, use them as need be and live as though you do not possess them.
PRAY: Dear Lord, give me the heart to appreciate everything for what they are without being attached to them.
