GOOD DAY: Have you noticed that you talk more to yourself than any other person? We do not realize how much we talk to ourselves silently and sometimes vocally depending on how intense the issue is. Abraham here was with Sarah, his wife, yet he talked to himself and made a decision. Remember the prodigal son, he talked to himself in his self imposed exile and made a decision..

You are your number one gist partner and you discuss with yourself using the information you had stored in your mind. This is why you must be mindful of what information you store in your mind.
Some people say talking to yourself is a mental health issue. It is not totally true. There is a level of self talk that is healthy and common to everybody. We are told to keep quiet while writing exams yet you talk to yourself to solve the problems during the exam. Self-talk is a normal and natural part of being human. People talk to themselves for many reasons, including self-criticism, self-reinforcement, self-management, social assessment, problem-solving, and motivation. No matter what anyone says to you, you have to talk it through with yourself for it to yield any result.
Talking to oneself becomes a mental health problem when you are not present in the gist. When you don’t know that you are talking to yourself neither do you know what you are talking about or the reason for talking.
Exercise for today: listen to yourself today and note down what you said to yourself. BE PART OF YOURSELF GISTING WITH YOURSELF
