LIFE AND LIVING ARE ABOUT CHOICES
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,”
Deuteronomy 30:19 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: I was introduced to counsel two men going through trauma from similar experiences. When I heard their stories, I was overwhelmed and was asking the Holy Spirit to tell me what to say. For some minutes, I was emotional and couldn’t hold back tears and an inner anger with God at how He allowed such a thing to happen. Then the Holy Spirit said to my spirit that it is a matter of choice. They can either choose to follow His counsel and be comforted or refuse to be comforted and continue sad. I wiped my face and told them that it was theirs to choose how they would approach the situation. They were either to receive the comfort of God or reject it and keep questioning God. I have found that choosing to accept God’s comfort is better and life-giving. I believe in God’s declaration about Himself and watch Him reveal His Majesty.
He says; “See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.”
Deuteronomy 32:39 NASB1995
With this, although He does not ask me before wounding me I choose to surrender to His healing and comfort anytime I am wounded. We continue later looking at why we get wounded and how to receive God’s comfort.
PRAY: Dear Lord, although hard to understand, You are who You are. Help me to surrender to Your healing and comforting hands always.
