MANAGING DELAYED HOPE

📖

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: One thing that gladdens the heart is that God knows that hope delayed makes the heart sick and since he knows, he has counsel for us to keep our hearts safe while waiting. This is the way. Set God before you always. “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ When you set the Lord before you, you will not be moved and your flesh will rest in hope. What I do when hope is delayed is to repeat the word of my hope to myself and say “God never fails. He is working behind the scenes to make the hope a reality in the best possible way”. The hack for discouragement is to talk to yourself in the affirmative way about God. When discouragement comes, speak or listen to attributes of God who promised and your soul will be lifted up. I remind myself that God is not man. He does not lie or change his mind. I encourage myself with the word of God and his nature that I know from things around me.

Are you discouraged? Try the method of speaking to yourself of the word of your hope and the character of God. It works.

Today’s Exercise: Lord, I worship you because you never fail. Even after the death of Abraham, you still fulfilled your promise to make him father of many nations which Abraham is witnessing even from heaven. Help me Lord to hold on to the hope you give me without wavering in Jesus name.
