MAN’S WILL OR GOD’S WILL
March 22. 2 Kings ch 8-11
BORN OF WILL OF MAN AND BORN OF GOD
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: John the Baptist was introducing Jesus and His mission to the people of the time. However, this introduction gives an insight into everything that we can go through. To every circumstance, there is first the WILL of MAN. The will of man is determined by external circumstances, needs of man, appearances etc. Are you in need of healing and you have asked God for it? Then the doctor tells you that the sickness will take your life and gives you time left to die yet God has promised you life, believe and hold on to God’s promise for it will happen. God warned Samuel when he was going to anoint one of Jesse’s sons as king of Israel.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Man’s will came first in Eliab. Then God rejected Eliab as that was not His choice. The older sons of Jesse were paraded before Samuel and none was God’s choice. Then God asked for Jesse’s youngest son who was left in the fields minding the sheep. David came and that was God’s choice.
If God promises you something, or you asked Him for something, then the first judgment of man in decisions will most likely be according to appearance. This is not always the Lord’s will or way. So what sounds and looks right by man is born by the will of man but what is right in the sight of God will be born by the spirit and overwrite man’s will eventually. If you are under the burden of the will of man, do not be discouraged, God’s will full of grace and truth will soon overcome. God sees the heart of all people and judges after the heart. Are you waiting in faith for what God promised you? Don’t lose heart; it shall come at the fullness of time.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I ask that your will in the lives of those who believe in You will prevail. Grant them the patience to wait for You..
