OVERCOMING THE GIANTS IN YOUR PATH

📖

“But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the Lord be with you!”” 1 Samuel 17:34-37 NLT

HAPPY DAY TO YOU. Today, we shall learn from David how to see giants on our way as obstacles that we can conquer. 

1. The first step is to understand what you are meant to watch over. Every Christian has the duty to make the will of God done on earth as it is in heaven. You are placed wherever you are as an ambassador of heaven, as representative of Christ to establish the kingdom of God. 

1. You are to keep a journal of how God helps you to overcome the minor obstacles you encounter daily. Know the way you call God for help and how He guides and answers you. 
2. When faced with the mega obstacle or giant, recall how God had helped in the past and decide to stand for Him as His ambassador. 

Remember that it is your daily walk with God that arms you for pulling down the giant with Him. 

Let us look at these giants. 

“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT

The giants are human reasoning, false arguments and proud obstacles that stop people from knowing God. The obstacles and giants are inside you. Tomorrow, we will discuss how to face the obstacles within us and put them down to the obedience of Christ.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for making me know my mission wherever I am. Help me to hold Your hand and do Your will. Say to yourself 10 times “I follow Christ and make the aroma of His knowledge known at all times.”
