PHYSICAL EXERCISE AND SPIRITUAL EXERCISE.
For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.
1 Timothy 4:8 AMP
GOOD DAY: A lot is said of physical exercise and well being of the body. People pay so much money and go through a lot of rigorous exercises just to look in shape and keep fit. The bible recognizes it to be of little benefit as it is only for maintaining a temporary body.
There is spiritual exercise as well which we hardly pay attention to. This has promises and benefits for this temporal life as well as eternal life. The only spiritual exercise those who care to practice know about is prayer and fasting. Good as prayer and fasting is, it hardly grows one spiritually. The first spiritual exercise that one has to engage in continually is to know that God Exists.
The world keeps throwing so many things at humanity that it is becoming more and more difficult to believe that God Exists. One spiritual exercise I would ask you to do if you want to believe that God Exists is to read Exodus 33:12-23 at least once or twice daily until you feel the reality of God. This passage has brought God close to me and enhanced my belief in the unseen realm no matter how difficult things become. Try it and see how you feel. You can share any scripture that makes God real to you so we can keep growing together.
PRAY: O Lord, teach me how to exercise spiritually. I want to know You more.
