POWER OF AWARENESS
“And there *arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up. Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they *woke Him and *said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?””Mark 4:37-38 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: In brief, the story that led to this conclusion is the story of Jesus in the boat with His disciples and a storm arose that was sinking the boat. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat while the boat was being filled with water. The apostles were fretting till they had to wake Jesus up.
The apostles were aware of Jesus the man with them. Their natural consciousness awareness from their five senses told them that they would drown. But Jesus had not only natural consciousness of the five senses but the consciousness of God with Him. He was aware that He could take instructions from the Father and decree a thing and it will be done for Him like we saw yesterday. He did not worry but decreed that the storm be calm.
If Jesus too was not aware of who was with Him and what He should do, they would have perished.
Another story of awareness of the invisible around us is the following story; “When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my Lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked.” 2 Kings 6:15-18 NIV.
Elisha was aware of horses and chariots of fire with them. He knew they would carry out his command. He commanded, and it was done. Awareness is the key difference between the players in the two stories above. Awareness is still the difference between believers even till this day. Who and what are you aware of? PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for making me aware of Your presence with me. Teach me to walk in that reality.
