ROOT OF MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS

GOOD DAY. Tinu tried to get a job for 10 months and she became frustrated. The frustration soon led to mild depression. The author of Harry Potter J K Rowling was frustrated having lost her mother, her, job and her marriage, she became homeless and attempted suiside. There are so many organizations set up to tackle mental health issues yet there is a continuous increase in the number of such cases.
What does God have to offer or what insight does the bible give on mental health?
The society at large is becoming more godless, less spiritual and more dependent on the facts as appreciated by the senses. However, we humans are at first spirit beings. To understand our survival, we must first go back to basics which is our spirituality. Of we continually live and operate in the natural realm alone, we will always be frustrated and fail. This fact that man should live by the spirit is what is hard for man to take and accept. John gave a pivotal sentence to his disciples when they told him about how Jesus was making more followers than him.
“John responded, “No one can receive a single thing unless it’s given to him from heaven.” John 3:27 HCSB First is we cannot receive anything except given from heaven (spirit). Which implies that all endeavors must be rooted and connected in the Spirit.
Secondly, listen to what God told Zerubabel about a difficult situation; “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength or by might, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts. ‘What are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. And he will bring out the capstone accompanied by shouts of: Grace, grace to it! ’ ” Zechariah 4:6-7 HCSB
About moving this mountain, it has nothing to do with Zerubbabel’s power or might but by the spirit of God. A godless unspiritual society will keep producing mentally frustrated citizens who are trying to perform by power and might.
Now to the words of Jesus Himself. He speaks the word of His Father who in turn did the work. As you meditate the scriptures in this discussion today, we will see what man’s part is in getting things done tomorrow.
PRAY: Dear Lord, let more people return to You so that we will be healed of mental health issues.
