TALKER VS DOER
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

GOOD DAY: How so many christians mind petty things while leaving the weighty things unattended to. No wonder Jesus chastised the Pharisees thus: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!

I have questions from people who ask why I don’t end the daily prayers with “in the name of Jesus”. I ask them some questions in return including 1. Do you gain understanding of life through the eye of scriptures when you read the write ups? 2. Do you find living by the scripture that you read possible and easy? Do you get inspiration and peace when you read? The answer to all these questions has been yes.
Then I lead them to today’s scripture for meditation. It is not how many times you call the name of Jesus that counts if you do not do His will. It is also as people see you do His will that they call you a Christian indeed. The more christians exhibit Christian attributes, the more peace the world will have. If christians in the workforce behave as the Bible says, it will be difficult for corruption to be so deeply entrenched in different countries of the world. In metallurgy, a crack must have a thorough way of weak spots to advance to break a metal. If the crack meets with a hard component, its tip becomes blunt and it can no longer break the metal. If christians can be the hard component for stopping the crack of corruption, the world will be clean.
PRAY: Dear Lord, please give me understanding of what being Your disciple means.
