And the serpent said to the woman, “In dying, you shall not surely die! For God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be like God, deciding good and evil.” And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Genesis 3:4-6 AFV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I remember when we were in school and we were given mathematics questions to solve. The teacher would call us to ask how, and why we arrived at our answers. The answers to the hows and whys depended on the informations each person had and how he reasoned it out. MINDS ARE MADE THROUGH THE INFORMATIONS YOU GET FROM YOUR EYES, EARS AND TASTE. This is why Jesus said we should be careful what we hear and how we hear. Eve heard information from two sources namely God through Adam and Satan the serpent.

God’s information was simple ‘Don’t eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil for the day you eat of it you shall die’. Genesis 2: 16-17. The serpent came and gave another information ; you shall not die but become like God knowing good and evil. The woman then took the serpent’s information with all her five senses and took a decision to eat the fruit and gave to her husband and they died spiritually. When they did not eat, they lived with God; when they ate, they died immediately. When they did not eat, they were not conscious of their physical bodies but as soon as they are, they became conscious of their physical bodies and made coverings for themselves to cover their shame and shield themselves from environmental conditions. This is the making of mind. From reception of information with the five senses to taking a decision. So if you can give a person an information and convince him to feel the information with the senses, then he can reason it and make his mind up. I leave you with this today and if you consider it, it will give you insight into how to change your life for the better. Tomorrow, we shall consider some practical examples of how people make their minds up.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for taking me to the beginning of mind issues. Please help me to understand more, Lord. Say to yourself as often as possible (I listen to what the word of God says and go by His word alone.)
