THE MARK OF DISCIPLESHIP OF CHRIST

““I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭34‬-‭35‬ ‭CEB‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: You can identify the religious group a person belongs to from their external appearance. Even traditional religious worshipers are identified by their physical appearances. Just as this is so in the physical, it is the same in the spiritual realm.

The spirit that lives in a person produces certain fruit. If you are a disciple of Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives in you then you must love your brethren. Love is the first fruit of a disciple of Jesus. The Holy Spirit also produces peace, joy, patience, and truthfulness. Wherever you find these fruits persistently, then the person is a disciple of Jesus.  Jesus said ““So Jesus was saying to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples.” ‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬ ‭AMP‬  Whoever does not know the word of Jesus nor continually living in His word is not a follower of Christ. Another Spirit lives in him. The spirit of Jesus also produces boldness in proclaiming Jesus both in words and character. Hear the people of Antioch’s confession about the apostles. “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Can people around you call you a Christian without you telling them? What does your attitude say about you? Let Jesus be seen in you always without even mentioning a word.

Today’s Exercise: Dear Lord, I thank You that You choose to live in me. Help me to yield my life to You completely in Jesus’ name I pray.
