THE NEED FOR TRAINING.
“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.”. Hebrews 5:12-14 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: Times now are such that we all need to train and grow our senses in discerning what God is saying to us. To become a doctor, you need to train in medicine. The training involves studying the principles and putting what you learn into practice. At the beginning of your training, you go back to your teachers and the book to get a good decision on all the possible ways to treat each disease that presents itself. With practice however, the method to use to treat each patient flows freely into your heart and your mistakes become fewer and fewer.
So it is with spiritual issues. Training involves reading the oracles of God which is the bible for the Christian under a guide who interpretes to you. Guidance will start with the little things of living as you study them in the bible. Then you put what you understand into practice as soon as life presents them. The more you study, understand and practice the better you become in training your senses to discern what is good and pleasing to God and what is evil. It will get to the time when you will hear God in your spirit and know that you have heard His voice. The easier it becomes for you to hear God, the more your peace will be and the less stressful your life will become. God wants to take you out of confusion and pain to a state of peace and joy but He can only do so if you can listen to Him, hear Him and put to practice whatever He says. Begin your personal study of a spiritual life.
PRAY: Dear Lord, the spiritual life is real and endures beyond the physical. Help me Lord to pay attention to the spiritual as well as my natural life in Jesus name.
