October 31. Luke ch 7-9
WHERE HE REVIVES AND RESTORES
[2] He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. [3] He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:2-3 ESV
GOOD DAY: God has His way of leading us that we all have to be sensitive to. As a shepherd that we do not see, and who cannot lead us by holding our hands, we must know and be familiar with His way of guiding and leading us.
First, He makes us lie down in green pastures. Green pastures are where the sheep has grass to feed. How does this apply to me? Wherever my soul settles must have goodness for me. If you have not been sensitive to the state of your soul, you may find this a bit tough. Many ideas come to your mind regarding any issue but the one that has green pastures for you is the one where your soul will settle in. If you are a child of God who commits everything to Him and you tell Him to guide you from settling for the wrong choice, then He will do exactly that.
Next is He gives you inner peace when where you settle is His choice. When fear, doubt, restlessness, strife and other negative emotions torment you in your choice, then know that God is not there. He leads beside still waters. Then He restores your tired soul. The tired and weak soul is revived. In the place of rest, just as the body gets restored and revived, the soul too does. No matter how dry and bad things are, the person being shepherded by God will have peace and at the place of peace, his way to his supply will be shown to him by God. It is time for us to study and observe our spiritual language so that we can benefit from the help that the Lord has made available to us.
Today’s exercise is: observe whether your soul has peace or not. Write out what agitates you if any. Tell God about it till you have peace. You can share it with me if you like.
PRAY: Thank you dear Lord that there is a place of peace where You want to lead me in spite of existing turbulence. Help me to follow You always.
