HAPPY DAY TO YOU: There are various useful living instructions in the bible that are meant to give and enhance peace. One of such is that God is our refuge. Some years back, some armed robbers came to our area. They fired some shots in the air and all of us ran to various corners and shops for refuge from their shots. Now, how do I sense spiritual robbers? Jesus said the thief only comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. John 10:10. These three things invoke fear and confusion. Whenever you feel fear and confusion, then a thief is around the corner. Your soul is sensing fear and confusion and other negative emotions for no reason, or for a reason known to you then you need to take refuge in God. Your soul cannot run to a safe physical place like when we heard the bullet shots but it can run to God for refuge.

HOW DOES THE SOUL RUN TO GOD?
The soul runs to God by taking a word of God and focusing on it, saying it to yourself until the fear, confusion or the negative emotion disappears. If it returns again, take your soul to the word again. My word is usually ‘All things work together for my good according to God’s purpose for me as I love Him’. I also run to ‘In Him I live and move and have my being’. It is your soul that hides in the secret place of the almighty. Where I am able to read long passages of scriptures, I clothe my soul with the psalms. With this, no matter what God permits to happen will not injure my soul. Let the word of God be the refuge for your soul when it becomes uncomfortable by sensing trouble.

Today’s Exercise: Thank you Lord for your word that makes a safe refuge for my soul in any type and time of evil. Say to yourself ten times and as often as possible (My soul runs to the word of God from any dangers. I choose to counter my fears and uncertainties with the word of God)
