THE THREE LEVELS OF RELATING WITH GOD. 1
“Pray like this: ‘Our Beloved Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn.” Matthew 6:9 TPT
GOOD DAY: Words form pictures in our minds. When you hear the word heaven, where does your mind go? What picture forms in your mind? Heaven is a place that is far up above and hell is a place that is deep deep in the earth. So when I call my Father who dwells in heaven, I am calling to a person very far away. I feel that I have to shout so He can hear me. When I read some more scriptures like ;
“The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.” Psalm 14:2 NASB1995, it further puts some pictures in my mind. This level of relating with God is very essential and basic but should not be where we settle to really interact with God. We must continue in the level while moving to the other levels.
This level of relating with God coupled with other scriptures of what God does from heaven can encourage morbid fear, frustrate someone as you believe He may not have heard you in spite of your shouting and fasting etc. It may also give the impression that He may not see everybody so unable to deal with your situation when it matters to you etc. This level as foundation is good for knowing that you are sure of who you are addressing. When I pray with spoken words, I am very sure who I am addressing. It is God my Father in heaven and when answers come, I give glory to Him. This does not encourage me to listen for an answer from Him as I feel I may not hear Him as the distance is far and so after talking, I just get up and go. Today, I want you to meditate on the implications of ‘MY FATHER WHO DWELLS IN HEAVEN’ in your own life. Tomorrow we look at the next level of relating with God.
PRAY: Dear Lord, level and depth of relationship count in my response to people. Thanks for making me know that it counts in my relationship with You as well. Open my eyes to further understand this and live by what I understand in Jesus name.
