THE WORD GENERATES LIGHT

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. John 1:4 NIV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: We are called to study the various nature of the word so that we can appreciate and become conscious of how our life is run. I met a woman of another faith and her lifestyle showed the light of a Christian. Some months after we had been relating, I asked for her church. She said I am a Muslim. I was shocked because the light that her life brought forth was the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The word in her was guiding her life and giving the light of who she is to others. I asked her how come her life is like that of a Christian. She said she attended Christian schools and has more of the bible in her than any other religious book.

The life of the word that lives in you gives the light through which people see you. The popular saying that age is in the mind says it. While some people look and feel younger than they are, others look way older than their age because of the word about age that they have in them.

The life in you gives light. If in your heart you don’t like a person, you don’t have to say it to him. He picks the light of the life the word produces in you. Once you understand that the word in you produces life that gives light to all, would you be more mindful of the words in you? I remember a phrase that was common with one of our teachers in school whenever they were solving some issues. Each time he came, he would look at all of us involved and he would pick someone and say “your face gives you out”. He could feel the light of the life that deceit gave out of that person. Ninety nine percent of the time, he was correct.

Today, before you do anything, take a short moment to see the word that gives your action life. Know that that life will give light to people around you. Remember, Jesus Christ said nobody lights a lamp and keeps it covered. It is placed on a stand for everyone in the house to see. Luke 8:16

I pray that toxic words that steal, kill and destroy life in our hearts will be rooted out in Jesus name.
