TWO PRAYER STRATEGIES
đź“–
Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven; Matthew 6:10 AFV

“If you dwell in Me, and My words dwell in you, you shall ask whatever you desire, and it shall come to pass for you.”
John‬ â€15‬:â€7‬ â€AFV‬‬

“And in that day you shall ask Me nothing. Truly, truly I tell you, whatever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give you. Until this day, you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.” John‬ â€16‬:â€23‬-â€24‬ â€AFV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: From the experience of praying, most of us have a long list of “unanswered” prayers. I used to wonder and sometimes doubt some of the promises of God. A research into prayer however gave my soul peace. There are two prayer strategies that Jesus gave. The first strategy I have discovered gives peace of mind no matter the outcome of your prayer. It is called indirect prayer strategy.

It is to pray “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” This presumes a total trust in God and His love and goodness. It gives a settled mind devoid of guilt that I have not done enough. One thing I discover too is it gives an opening to reason with God on why He chose to answer the prayer like that. Each time I experienced an answer contrary to what I asked for, I have always been given an understanding of why God’s choice is the best for me.
The second strategy is called direct strategy. This is Ask whatever you want in my name and it shall be given to you or Ask and you shall receive. This is direct and it puts one’s hope in the fact that God will give me what I ask. When this doesn’t work out as you want, you become disappointed in God and sometimes even doubt His existence, goodness and power. This is the strategy we often employ and get disappointed. I believed that having employed the two strategies, Apostle John gave us a summary of the strategy that clears the air for you and me. “And this is the confidence that we have toward Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we may ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.” â€â€I John‬ â€5‬:â€14‬-â€15‬ â€AFV‬‬

Today, I leave you with the thought that you should ask for God’s will in the issue at hand. And you should be in the mind that the Lord’s will be done in your life at all times.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for clarifying prayer to me. I still need more understanding, help me Lord. Say to yourself several times (I set my mind on God’s will being done in my life always.)
