UNDERSTANDING THE WEAPON OF YOUR DEFENCE.

““You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, irreverently, in false affirmations or in ways that impugn the character of God]; for the Lord will not hold guiltless nor leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain [disregarding its reverence and its power].” Exodus 20:7 AMP (The 3rd Commandment)

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: One day, in my frustration, I asked the Holy Spirit why the name of Jesus does not bring answers to prayers even in desperate situations when that is all the power the christian has. He answered and said “People have called my name in vain so much that I refuse to identify with their falsehood and deception”. Then my attention was drawn to what is done even on the pulpit these days. Not only do ministers tell lies on the pulpit in the name of Jesus, they bring comedians to mock the Name even on their pulpits while the people laughed. That the name of the Lord should not be desecrated is no longer preached from the pulpit when God clearly warns that “You must not swear falsely by my name, desecrating your God’s name in doing so; I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:12 CEB
Yet they are quick to quote “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 KJV How can the name that you have desecrated save you?
People use the name of God as a swear name in their gisting when His name is to be hallowed. We have taken the Lord’s Prayer out of your services and hardly do people know it again! How then is what you despise meant to shield and save you? You have left your pearls to the pigs when I clearly said “Don’t give holy things to dogs, and don’t throw your pearls in front of pigs. They will stomp on the pearls, then turn around and attack you.” Matthew 7:6 CEB
When we return to the Lord and start hallowing His Name, then the Lord will begin to honor His Name but for now, the Holy Spirit said to me ‘teach christians to Honour My Name’. What will you do about honouring the name of Jesus in your own life? Do unbelievers discredit the name of God by your life?“As it is written: “The name of God is discredited by the Gentiles because of you”.” Romans 2:24 CEB Think about this.
Today’s Exercise: Whatever people do not hear, they cannot do. When was the last time you heard “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name”? Repeat to yourself ten times today and as often as you remember “I revere the name of God anywhere and anytime in everything I think and do. So help me God.”
