What to think

January 19.    Exodus ch 5-7

“So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises!”. Hebrews 10:23 TPT

GOOD DAY TO YOU: I remember when I promised to buy a bicycle for my son after he had talked about how he would love one to my hearing for quite some time then. He was very excited and he talked about this bicycle and how he would decorate it almost everyday. He was certain that I would not disappoint and he knew he had a bicycle even when I had not bought it nor did he know when I would.

Depending on the source of your hope, you can be like this my son. How do you generate hope in God? It is by taking thought from the promise or nature or work of God relating to your issue at hand. If your hope is from or based on God, then you can be sure that He will do what He promises. He will instruct and guide you to the fulfilment of His promise.

How do you know when God gives you a promise directly? This is my experience: I saw in God’s word some years back “Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:5 KJVI took this thought as age effects started showing in my body and kept repeating it to myself as often as I could everyday. Anytime I felt pain at any joint, I repeated it to myself. I refused to think about what people or science said. It happened one day that the promise jumped at me and got quickened in my heart that I had a joy I couldn’t explain. The promise came alive. That was the day it became a promise of God to me personally like the bicycle to my son.The aging effects started dropping off one by one as my food taste started changing. Foods and drinks I loved became uninteresting and I started accepting the ones I didn’t like as a young woman. Ever since then, my energy has been renewed on a daily basis. I had joy and was excited. Each time signs of aging show up, I tell myself that my mouth is satisfied with good things and my youth is renewed like the eagles and joy fills my heart instead of worries and pains. I think about the days of my youth not the aging I am feeling and I am happy about youthfulness in me. Practice this with any condition and you will transform your reality from what you see and feel with your five senses to what the word of God (your hope) says.

TODAY’S EXERCISE: Say to yourself as many times as you can today. ““ “Against all odds, though it looks hopeless, I believe in God’s promise and expect God to fulfill it. I speak and rejoice in God’s declaration until it comes to pass!”” Romans 4:18 TPT (paraphrased)
