WHEN THE JOURNEY BECOMES THREATENING

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4 NASB1995

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: To make the shepherding complete, He guides us even when the journey takes you through the valley of the shadow of death as He stays with you. His rod and staff which represent His word comfort you at such moments of danger. Psalm 23 foreshadows Jesus Christ who came and removed the myth around the worst enemy- death by His own death and resurrection so that we are comforted by the same comfort He had as He went through the valley of the shadow of death. Studies from various doctors in hospitals around the world reveal that those who die having faith in Christ and people praying for them pass on with smiles on their faces. They were not afraid even of death but faced it with peace. So Christ shepherds us in life and in dying through His word presence, peace and comfort. Jesus the good shepherd gave a promise that: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1–3 KJV. With this word of comfort and assurance, we need not fear as the worst of fears has been conquered.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for Your ever abiding presence. Keep me conscious of this truth so that I will not fear but hold on to You. Say to yourself as often as need be (The Lord is with me I fear nothing as I follow His leading.)
