WHEN THE LORD CHOOSES TO BLESS HE DOES NOT MAKE NOISE
And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings 19:12-13 ESV
GOOD DAY: As I had my mind on God asking what He will want to tell His children, I heard “When I am ready to bless I do not make noise.” Elijah was seated under a tree, frustrated, tired and even wished he would die from how evil the children of Israel had become while he was the only one defending the name of God yet they wanted to kill him. There are many Elijah’s now and you could be one of them. You are living for the honor of God’s name in this perverse generation yet nothing seems to be working well. There are the earthquake and fire effects of heavily advertised miracle workers and miracle services but God is not in these earthquakes and fires. He comes in gentle low whispers to answer your requests and bless you. The journey may still be far but He gives bread and water for the length of it all. He gives you His word that releases the energy that you will need for as long as the journey lasts. It is in your sitting in quietness that God speaks to you and blesses you. Hear what God says: “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling,” Isaiah 30:15 ESV
The earthquake and the fire have been so advertised and glorified that the quietness and confident trust in God is forgotten. Friend, it is in quietness and confident trust in the Lord shall your salvation and blessing come from God. Practice quietness and confident trust in the Lord today if only for five minutes to start with and do it everyday until it becomes your nature.
PRAY: Dear Lord, make me calm and trusting in You and Your thoughts towards me. I will return to You and wait quietly till You visit me.
