WHO IS YOUR SHEPHERD

WHO IS YOUR SHEPHERD?
This is the fate of those who are foolishly confident, And of those after them who approve [and are influenced by] their words. Selah. Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead); Death will be their shepherd; And the upright shall rule over them in the morning, And their form and beauty shall be for Sheol to consume, So that they have no dwelling [on earth].
Psalms 49:13-14 AMP
GOOD DAY: I know a man who is confident while telling lies. The unfortunate thing about him is that he does this even in easily verifiable matters. His lies have helped him to achieve his aims but the achievement has always been short lived leading to “death” of his dream yet he has not stopped to reason and change.
We are all familiar with Psalm 23 that opens with ‘the Lord is my shepherd’. It now continues to narrate the benefits of the Lord shepherding His sheep. The Lord shepherd’s us to life; He guides us off the way of death through the peace he gives at every stage of our journey. Even when the way is rough, He shepherd’s with His peace. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 ESV
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15 ESV
However, when Death is your shepherd, he leads in the way of foolish confidence which makes the person boast of what he does not know or understand. Those who know the truth take his words with a pinch of salt but those who are fooled to believe them are led in the way of death as well. They may not die physically but all their life ambitions and expectations are cut short. When you see a confident fool boasting and succeeding in deceiving people, don’t worry or envy them but you need to stand clear of them so they don’t lead you down the path of death.
WHO IS YOUR SHEPHERD? The Lord or Death?
PRAY: Dear Lord, don’t let me be deceived to be foolishly confident while walking in the path of death.
