WORKING OUT YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 NLT.

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Many people will say “I am free and not held captive by anybody so there is nothing for me to break from”. True, you are not physically held captive by anybody. However, our warfare is not against flesh and blood it is in the spirit realm. We are in warfare against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen realm and evil spirits in the heavenly realm. These are spiritual entities in the form of thoughts. These thoughts take root in our hearts as we hear and perceive them with our five senses daily. Culture and other thought forms we had held from the start of life hold us captive as well. These thoughts take our own thoughts captive and limit how we can think and act. For example, if you think that you want to expand your endeavour, the world will tell you that the economy is bad and your effort will fail. A war now begins in you between the inspiration you have to expand and the world economic condition as advertised and perceived everyday. Once the world’s thought takes root, it starts guiding your thoughts and actions. It then becomes difficult to hear the word of Christ that says you can do all things through Him who strengthens you and live your life to the fullness of your God given talent. Deliverance sessions cannot set man free because until a man transforms his mind with the word of Christ, then his faith in Christ can make him free indeed fulfilling; “So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.” John 8:36
The warfare is more clearly described thus;  “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” II Corinthians 10:3-6 NKJV
You cast down every thought and hold them captive to the obedience of Christ. There lies your breakthrough as you become free to think positively. Tomorrow, we will look at how to cast down thoughts to the obedience of Christ.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for making me see the freedom that Christ gives me. Help me to see the liberty and stand in it. Say to yourself ten times “I stand firm in the liberty that Christ gives no matter the wind or the storm that blows”.
