“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” I Corinthians 6:19 NKJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Even when I have not put block upon block to build a house, I realise that I am a landlord. You are a landlord as well and no matter how many buildings you have built or not physically, it is only one building to which you have the real title deed. That building is your body. God gave you your body and you are the one who decides who the tenants or occupants are. Let us get it clearer with this story that Jesus told. ““When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”” Luke 11:24-26 NKJV From this, you see that your body is a house where spirits can dwell. It is the spirit that you give space that lives inside you. Spirits find houses in human beings to have physical expression. Jesus taught this, and apostle Paul put it clearly that our body is the temple or house of the Holy Spirit too. So it is a person’s responsibility to decide what spirit he gives room in his house. This is the reason why spirits are cast out and not struggled with as we see in deliverance services now.
The good thing is that spirits recognise authorities. They recognise that Jesus is the ultimate authority and whoever is house to the Holy Spirit in deed has the authority in the name of Jesus to cast them out. This is because; “…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV
You can evict any tenant you don’t like by casting the spirit out in the name of Jesus. Today, look into your mind and see the spirit that inhabits you. You know by the fruit it produces. Are you prone to lying, wickedness, stealing etc, then if you don’t want such, you can cast them out in the name of Jesus. You can invite the Holy Spirit to come and live in you.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You God for making me see that I house spirits. Help me to house Your Holy Spirit alone. Say to yourself ten times and as often as you can “I am the temple of the Holy Spirit”.

What we feed grows, and what we stave eventually dies. Careless living is a precursor to investment in negative spirits, and as Christians, we can not afford to live carelessly. “I am the temple of the Holy Spirit” is a doing/action declaration where we are constantly checking and rechecking to ensure that we still have the Holy Spirit indwelling us. We must consciously and deliberately feed our spirit man with Kingdom foods, which are the words of God. This is a real Kingdom business, and only the astute Christian will have the lasting advantage of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling. May God help us in Jesus’ name. Amen!!!
