June 6. Psalms ch 73-75
WHERE IS YOUR FOCUS (3) YOUR INTERPRETATION
Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us—a land which flows with milk and honey. Only do not rebel against the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for they will be our prey. Their protection has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.”
Numbers 14:6-9 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: Today we will consider the interpretation of the minority; Joshua and Caleb. They saw the land, the people, they saw themselves in God and not as grasshoppers. The land is an exceedingly good land which flows with milk and honey. They did not see a land devouring its people rather they saw a land that they could occupy if the Lord was pleased with them. They saw the people there. They were giants and strong yet these people would be prey for the children of Israel. These giants were not to be feared. Joshua and Caleb knew that they were small compared to these people but still saw themselves able to defeat them if God was pleased with the Israelites. In life situations, who do you see with you? Who is with you? Your confidence depends on who is with you inwardly. Joshua and Caleb remembered God and what He had done for the children of Israel in the past and they concluded that if Israel did not rebel against God, the giants would be God’s prey and theirs as well.
What about you? I am asking again because it is time to do a self check and see whether you are in the majority that sees and gives a bad report or you are in the minority that sees victory with God on their side. Think and see where you need to make amends and cross camp if need be.
PRAY: Lord, give us an individualistic stance in all matters that concern our spiritual development and our hindsight, insights, and foresight in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen!!!
