LET IT BE SO FOR NOW
“But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so for now. For in this way we shall do all that God requires.” So John agreed.” Matthew 3:15 GNT
GOOD DAY: A lady called me feeling frustrated at what the judge said in court. She had been denied her right over her plot of land that someone had encroached upon. The judge had virtually said what the judgment was that her land be returned to her but he was asking the encroacher for some more details of why he thinks he can build on the land that was beyond his own legitimately owned parcel of land. Yet at the end of that day’s hearing, the judge said the woman should let it be as it is for now and fixed another day for hearing. She was so frustrated and asked that I should pray that the devil should stop holding the heart of the judge. This saying of Jesus to John the Baptist flashed in my mind.
I told her that the judge was not passing judgment yet because there may be some other things to bring out for him to fulfill the law of the land. That being the case, she should exercise patience, give thanks to God, rejoice and stop attacking the devil. Putting the devil in the matter will complicate matters for her emotionally.
Are you being denied your rights as a child of God? Does God seem too slow? Are things not working as they should? Are you facing an injustice? Have you prayed and prayed yet nothing has changed? Let it be so for now so that the righteousness and glory of God will have its way.
John knew Jesus was greater than him yet God’s plan was for Jesus to humble Himself and be baptized by John. Everything will fulfill the righteousness of God.
PRAY: Dear Lord, make me humble and patient enough to accept to follow the path of Your righteousness.
