HE CALLS ME FRIEND
“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
John 15:15 NASB1995
GOOD DAY. He calls me His friend and I wonder why he would. Years back, when a man that every girl desired came to ask me to be his friend, I couldn’t believe my ears. I was the tomboy type of girl, I wasn’t fashionable, my voice was very loud and I was very brilliant and quite arrogant. He on the other hand was very good looking, tall and quite caring. He didn’t like making trouble yet he persisted until I agreed to be his friend and he promised that he would respect me. Behold, he kept his word even when I became weak, he still kept himself under control. Today, when I heard Jesus say tell my children that I am their friend. I do not find faults with them. I want to love them and set them on the path of abundant life, I want their company. I was wondering why He would call even me His friend. My friend, Jesus loves you and calls you His friend. He wants to tell you everything His Father tells Him. He chose you. He wants you to pay attention and know His voice. His thoughts towards you are thoughts of good and not of evil. He wants you to have full joy. You don’t have to be lonely or alone because He is always with you. Just study to know His voice. He wants to laugh with you and cry with you and comfort you and show you the way through any situation. He knows more than you but is still courting your love. Will you say YES to Jesus today?
Today’s exercise: notice the voice and help of Jesus in your life today. Note it down and learn to recognise it every time you hear or feel His presence.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I say YES to your overtures to me today. Help and teach me to love You.
