COMMUNICATION LINK BETWEEN GOD AND MAN
“When the king was settled in his palace, and the LORD had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies, the king said to the prophet Nathan, “Look! I’m living in a cedar palace, but God’s chest is housed in a tent!” Nathan said to the king, “Go ahead and do whatever you are thinking, because the LORD is with you.””. 2 Samuel 7:1-3 CEB
GOOD DAY: Hearing and obeying God is quite tough since man fell in the garden of Eden. In the Old Testament times, it was easier because God made Himself known to chosen people who then spoke His heart (thought) to the others but after Jesus, He gave us His Holy Spirit who teaches us all things (all the thoughts of God) John 14:26. Prophet Nathan gave insight into the communication link between God and man. David had a thought in his heart and he told the prophet about it. Nathan the prophet did not close his eyes or did special meditation to know the mind of God. He told David to go ahead and do whatever was in his heart or whatever he thought about because God was with him.

This means that God uses any of these means above to communicate His heart or thought to man. Whoever is near to God then will have his heart or thought filled with God. Jesus repeated Isaiah’s prophecy about nearness or otherwise to God in His teaching:
‘And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; …’. Mark 7:6-7 ESV In modern language, the verse reads
“Jesus replied: You are nothing but show-offs! The prophet Isaiah was right when he wrote that God had said, “All of you praise me with your words, but you never really think about me.”. Mark 7:6 CEV
The implication of this is that whatever you think about speaks to you. Whatever you run away from in your thoughts cannot speak to you even if it does, you cannot hear.
Now the question is what or who fills your thoughts? Watch your thoughts today and note down what is there then we’ll consider this meditation further.
PRAY: Dear Lord, filling my thoughts with you is real battle with all the cares of the world. I surrender my heart to you today, fill every part of it please in Jesus name.
