ASK FOR THE GOOD DIRECTION
This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’
Jeremiah 6:16 NLT
GOOD DAY: Many people are at cross roads and don’t know what to do; there are many ways open to them and everyone of the ways promises to take them to the desired end. However, there is only one godly way that will give rest to your soul in each particular situation. I have been at cross roads several times. When I was younger, I asked friends who reasoned like me for counsel. We were not mindful of God and His ways. I heard their counsels, then reasoned with myself and took the counsel I felt was best. The final counsel rests with you. Most of the time, they actually turned out very wrong and I was burdened and tired of living. Now that I am wiser, I take counsel from the word of God first, then I ask friends who also have the fear of God. I have peace in my soul when I finally decide what to do even when in the natural and to my reasoning sense it looks to be the wrong decision. The outcome has always been God’s perfect will that gives rest to my soul.
In those past years when I did not consider God, I had no rest of mind with the decisions I made. I would always be planning and scheming what to do next and life became burdensome. It wasn’t until I tried the counsel of today’s scripture that I started having rest in my soul and life is less burdensome even when things are not right in nature. I have also come to know that it is not any circumstance in itself that is the issue but the sting and venom of it to the soul. If your soul is not stringed and you are at peace, you can survive any obstacle or difficulty. I advise you to follow the counsel of the scripture above and see how you will be relieved of the burden and pain of the many things in life that can trouble the soul yet you are at peace.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I want peace of mind in this world that has no peace nor can offer any for my soul. Help me to trust You to follow your way that gives rest to the soul.
